Three days is enough to see the Dubai everyone comes for, provided you book the big-ticket items around the light and the heat. This itinerary balances one headline attraction per day with slower time in the old city.

Day 1: Downtown and the Burj Khalifa

Start late morning at Dubai Mall, then time your Burj Khalifa Sky Deck slot for 60 to 90 minutes before sunset so you see the city in daylight, at dusk and lit up. Stay for the fountain show below.

Day 2: Red dunes desert safari

Afternoon pickups leave around 15:00 and return after dinner under the stars. Dune bashing, camel rides and a barbecue camp — book the morning free for the beach at Kite Beach or La Mer.

Day 3: Old Dubai and the creek

Cross the creek by abra for a single dirham, wander the Gold and Spice Souks, then finish at Al Fahidi with coffee in a wind-tower courtyard.

Booking tips for Dubai

  • Book timed-entry attractions at least 48 hours ahead in winter season.
  • Leave 90 minutes between activities — traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road is unpredictable.
  • Friday mornings are the quietest time at the souks.
