Premium Desert Safari Dubai with Table Service and Boutique Camp

Overview

The premium safari moves you out of the mass-market camps. Groups are capped, vehicles carry a maximum of four guests, and the camp is a boutique setting with reserved low tables, rugs and lanterns rather than rows of cushions. Dinner is served to your table in courses instead of queued at a buffet, and the programme adds a falconry demonstration and an astronomy talk. The dune drive runs longer and further into the belt, away from the convoy traffic that shapes the cheaper trips.

Why visit

You get the intimacy people expect from a private trip — small camp, served food, a real falconry and stargazing element — for roughly half what a private charter costs.

Highlights

  • Maximum four guests per 4x4 and a capped camp size
  • 40-minute dune drive deeper into the Lahbab belt
  • Reserved low table with rugs, cushions and lanterns
  • Served four-course dinner with a pre-selected main
  • Live falconry demonstration and a guided stargazing session

Know before you go

  • Main courses are chosen at booking so the kitchen can prepare to count. Tell us about allergies then — the camp cooks to order rather than running a buffet, so substitutions are easy with notice and difficult without.
  • Loose, light clothing and closed shoes or sandals you do not mind filling with sand. Bring a layer for after sunset — desert temperatures drop quickly once the light goes. Modest dress is appreciated at camps with live performances.
  • Open to all ages. Dune driving is not recommended during pregnancy or for guests with back, neck, heart or spinal conditions. Children under three sit on a parent's lap during the dune drive and travel free.
  • Dune driving is not suitable for wheelchair users, and camp ground is soft sand. Camps have firm matting paths to the main seating and staff can assist with transfers. Tell us about mobility needs at booking and we will place you in a camp with the shortest walk from the vehicle.
  • Book the earliest pickup slot in winter; the sun sets before 18:00 and the deep-belt drive is best in low light.
  • Bring a jacket between December and February — boutique camps sit further from the road and get colder.
  • Ask the falconer before photographing the bird up close; they will position it for you.
  • The astronomy session runs only on clear nights and is skipped around the full moon.

Worth every dirham

We had done a cheap safari years ago and this was a different experience entirely. The falconer was fascinating and dinner arrived at our table.
